Job Description

The Clinical Relations Veterinarian, in collaboration with the
Associate Dean for Clinical Relations and Outreach and other Clinical
Relations and Outreach faculty and staff, provides strategic leadership
and promotes excellence in all phases of clinical rotations for fourth
year veterinary students. The Clinical Relations Veterinarian shall be
in charge of liaising with Clinical Affiliates (Clinical Site
Preceptors) involved in clinical year curriculum delivery. The Clinical
Relations Veterinarian shall facilitate the training and professional
development of Clinical Site Preceptors and their associated teams. The
Clinical Relations Veterinarian will lead efforts to secure additional
Clinical Affiliate partners and to represent the LMU-CVM at select
professional meetings. The Clinical Relations Veterinarian will ensure
excellence in student learning experiences during all clinical year
rotations. The Clinical Relations Veterinarian will participate in
delivering course content and teaching in the Clinical and Professional
Skills course and other LMU-CVM pre-clinical courses. The Clinical
Relations Veterinarian will have input on shaping the LMU-CVM program
and the education of future veterinarians. The Clinical Relations
Veterinarian will be assigned geographic regions and will be
responsible for all aspects for program delivery in that area including
Affiliate Recruiting, Affiliate Relationship Management, Student
Support, Managing the Clinical Hub Liaisons that are in the area and
problem solving relative to their area. This is a remote position
located in a region identified by the LMU-CVM

  • supervise the planning, delivery, and evaluation of designated courses
  • works closely and collaboratively with the Associate Dean of Clinical Relations and Outreach
  • represents the office and college as appropriate
  • provides oversight for implementation of initiatives and the strengthening of the fulfillment of the college mission
  • assures student learning outcomes are achieved and measurable in both qualitative and quantitative metrics in the hybrid distributed clinical education model
  • participate in regularly scheduled meetings of personnel assigned to the Clinical Relations and Outreach team
  • prepare required reports
  • assures that the college is represented at appropriate AAVMC, AVMA, State VMAs and other professional programs, initiatives, and events as designated
  • ability to effectively deliver presentations to students, clinical affiliates and other parties
  • recruit new clinical affiliate partners into the LMU-CVM clinical affiliate network in designated geographic areas
  • recruit new clinical affiliate partners into the LMU-CVM clinical affiliate network in designated geographic as identified
  • ability to travel regularly
  • perform other duties as assigned
