Standardized Patients for the Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (DCOM) will perform a variety of duties involved in the portrayal of actual patients.

Job Duties
  • promote the mission of Lincoln Memorial University to all faculty, staff, students, and to the community at large;
  • promote effective working relationships among faculty, staff, and students;
  • commit to education of health professionals;
  • perform a variety of duties after training and rehearsal to accurately and consistently portray specific types of patients for cases and/or scenarios;
  • simulate all aspects of the scenario, including history of current problem, affect/behavior (personality, emotions) and physical findings, in a standardized, accurate, and reliable manner.demonstrate interviewing skills with medical students, nursing students and others;
  • prepare and study for the role of the patient for each case/scenario;
  • demonstrate flexibility and reliability with schedules and assignments;
  • work in a professional manner when interacting with learners, faculty, staff and peers;
  • accurately and consistently complete checklists and/or evaluations of medical student performance;
  • accept ongoing feedback from supervisor/trainer and incorporate into case simulation;
  • maintain objectivity and confidentiality;
  • complete required institutional, program accreditation, and other reports necessary for the advancement of University programs;
  • perform other duties as assigned.
