Job Description

THESE POSITIONS ARE LOCATED IN DUBLIN, OHIO

The Ohio University Department of Physician Assistant Practice seeks to hire adjunct faculty to instruct physician assistant (PA) students in clinical pharmacology and therapeutics. Applications will be accepted into this pool on an ongoing basis to fill positions as needed for the 2025-2026 academic year.

The ideal candidates will possess strong clinical pharmacology knowledge and have experience applying this knowledge to patient care. Prior experience teaching or presenting medical information is highly desirable. The adjunct faculty will create original course content, deliver content face-to-face in the classroom, and assess student knowledge.

Candidates for this position should be licensed pharmacists, physicians, and/or PAs in good standing with their respective boards. Consideration may be given to applicants with a related PhD and/or relevant experience in pharmacology. Other opportunities within the PA program could include participation in admissions, academic and career counseling, and working with the Program Director and Director of Clinical Education to provide course and clinical input.

Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated success in teaching and/or clinical practice.

The Department of Physician Assistant Practice began offering the Master of Physician Assistant Practice Degree beginning with its inaugural class in 2015. We accept approximately 35 students per year into the 27-month program. The program is located in Dublin, Ohio in a state-of-the-art academic facility. The Department of Physician Assistant Practice is within the College of Health Science and Professions (http://www.ohio.edu/chsp).

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must have a PhD with evidence of licensure as a registered pharmacist in the state of Ohio by start date,

PhD with experience in pharmacology or related field.

Licensed/certified MD/DO, and/or PA with pharmacology teaching experience.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Evidence of successful graduate teaching
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
  • Strong organizational and computer skills.
  • Commitment to active learning and use of technology in the learning process.
  • Commitment to involvement in professional organizations.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated success in clinical practice and /or teaching.
