Job Duties:
The College of Nursing seeks to recruit and fill a faculty secondary appointment of Executive Director of Program Evaluation. The Executive Director of Program Evaluation is a mission-critical position providing strategic leadership and oversight for all evaluation and assessment activities within the East Carolina University (ECU) College of Nursing. This position is responsible for ensuring that academic programs across all levels - baccalaureate, master's, and doctoral - meet or exceed standards for quality, effectiveness, and compliance with institutional and accrediting body requirements. The Executive Director plays a pivotal role in supporting the College's mission to prepare nurses who advance health care through education, service, and scholarship

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitating review and revision of the systematic plan of evaluation for the College of Nursing.
  • Ensuring that program evaluation processes are in compliance, systematic, data-driven, and aligned with ECU's Institutional Assessment, the UNC System's expectations, NC Board of Nursing, and Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) standards.
  • Supporting additional program evaluation and accreditation efforts of the college, including program-specific accreditation processes, National League for Nursing, and other college recognition to maintain excellence, accountability, and compliance across all programs.
  • Providing the leadership necessary for accreditation success, strategic growth, and continuous improvement - supporting the College's reputation as a national leader in nursing education and preparing graduates to meet the evolving health care needs of eastern North Carolina and beyond.
  • Remaining up-to-date on current knowledge about evaluation theory and process.
  • Serving as a representative for the College of Nursing on various university committees that involve assessment and evaluation.



Contingent upon the availability of funds

Minimum Education/Experience:
Master's degree in Nursing; 2 years of experience in nursing practice; Demonstrated experience supporting nursing program evaluation.

All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation:
A valid non-restricted North Carolina nursing license is required upon employment.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:
1 year of education experience in an academic setting. PhD in Nursing or related field.
