Position Description

The Department of Statistics invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow with Professor Samuel Kou. Professor Kou's group focuses on research in statistical modeling and stochastic inference in protein folding, biology, chemistry and medicine, Bayesian inference, machine learning and AI, statistical computing, big data and AI applications and prediction in biology, medicine and infectious diseases.

Potential research projects include (but are not limited to) statistical modeling in protein folding, neurobiology, role of synthetic data in statistical analysis, machine learning and AI methods, causal inference in biomedical data.

The appointment will be for up to three years with annual renewal based on satisfactory performance and continued availability of funding.

Basic Qualifications

Ph.D. in Statistics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or directly related field at time of appointment is required.

Additional Qualifications

The successful applicant will be expected to have a solid statistical background, research experiences showing independence and innovation, and demonstrated academic writing skills.

Pay offered to the selected candidate is dependent on factors such as years of experience, training or qualification, field of scholarship, and accomplishments in the field.
