Systems Analyst/Programmer

Information Technology

Full Time

Primary Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain application programs supporting the University community; Work with end users to identify and document application requirements and specifications. Design, code, test, maintain, document, and implement computer applications
  • Partner with campus units to implement, configure, and support business applications; Help analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues
  • Develop business reports for functional teams; Work with IT System Administrators to implement roles and access procedures to secure university data
  • Work with third party vendors to integrate software with the University's enterprise systems; Consider data and security needs protecting the assets of the University; Work with IT Data Engineers to implement data synchronization between systems
  • Stay current on program development tools, languages, frameworks, and methods; Research and implement best practices for information and application security
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
  • Experience with SQL and developing database queries
  • Experience developing in at least one programming language
  • Ability to effectively analyze and solve complex problems
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical procedures and concepts, both in writing and verbally to individuals without a technical background
  • Experience working in a team environment and ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of quality customer service

*This position is not fully remote and will require working on-campus in Cape Girardeau, MO.
