Job Description
The Department of Social Work at Ohio University invites applications for a nine-month Assistant Professor of Instruction (non-tenure track) position that reports to the Chair of the Department of Social Work. The Department of Social Work has an undergraduate social work program, as well as an MSW program that is offered in-person and online. The MSW program has a focus on rural social work and clinical practice. The social work programs are accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
The candidate will be responsible for teaching courses across the curriculum with a special emphasis on Graduate Field Practicum courses in an online format. The assistant professor of instruction will have a 4-4 semester course load with the possibility of summer teaching. Additionally, this candidate will be expected to advise/mentor social work students and engage in service to the department, college, university and profession.

Minimum Qualifications
- Earned Master of Social Work from an accredited program by the start date of appointment.
- At least two years post-MSW practice experience.
- Hold a social work license or licensure eligible
- Experience teaching at the college level
- Doctoral degree in social work (PhD or DSW) or closely related field
- Experience teaching at the graduate level.
- Demonstrated proficiency with e-learning and online course development/delivery
- Licensed Independent or Clinical Social Worker
- Experience supervising students in an agency setting
- Social work practice/teaching experience in rural areas
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to working as part of a collaborative team
