Job Description
ART 5620 is a required course in the one-year Master of Education in Art Education program and plays a central role in preparing candidates for effective, standards-aligned K-12 art instruction. The course emphasizes standards-based curriculum development, assessment strategies, inclusive teaching practices, classroom management, and supervised clinical teaching in public schools.
Primary instructional responsibilities include developing and delivering course content aligned with Ohio standards, guiding students in lesson planning and unit development, designing assessments, modeling appropriate studio processes for K-12 classrooms, and evaluating student work while providing timely, constructive feedback.
Applications to this pool will be utilized to fill non-tenure track, non-benefits eligible Instructor positions for delivering of a in-person course at the Athens Campus for our Masters in Education in Art Education during the 2026/2027 academic year.
Minimum Qualifications
A Master's Degree in Art Education (or related field) by the start date of appointment, or the equivalence of through a combination of education and experience in accordance with Ohio University policy 18.001. Current state licensure/certification in Art Education and demonstrated experience teaching visual art in K-12 school setting or closely related educational context.
