Essential Job Duties:
Candidates will be hired as a non-tenure track Teaching Assistant Professor based on credentials/qualifications.

The successful candidate(s) will teach undergraduate courses in Integrative Humanities and Social Sciences, specifically courses in Arts Studies that deal with the history and analysis of theater including plays of various periods. Must be able to teach theater production/performance courses that link the arts to other non-arts disciplines or areas of study.

The successful candidate(s) will be responsible for the coordination, planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities. Will also prepare their own syllabi and will be expected to hold office hours and other class-related duties.

The appointment will be for three academic years with the possibility of renewal.

Other Work/Responsibilities:
Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned based on the needs of the organization and evolving priorities.

Minimum Experience/Education:

  • Teaching Assistant Professor applicants must have a doctoral degree or equivalent qualifications in a required field of instruction

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate skills in teaching and facilitating research with a varied cross-section of students.
  • Ability to offer substantial course content in person and online.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with interdisciplinary subject matter.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to engage in proactive style of student mentoring.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching at the university level.
  • A doctorate preferred.
  • Discipline in theater or closely related field.
