Job Description
The Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at Lincoln Memorial University - located in Knoxville, Tennessee - is searching for a full-time core faculty member who will contribute to the Programs research, teaching, and service missions. The ideal applicant will be pursuing a scholarly agenda, have college and/or clinical teaching, and demonstrate evidence of professional service. Rank commensurate with credentials and experience. Salary and start-up support are negotiable.
Required Qualifications
Doctorate in Physical Therapy degree (DPT) or BSPT/MSPT with academic doctorate Current licensure as a physical therapist in the state of Tennessee, or eligible to obtain licensure prior to initiating teaching duties At least 3 years of clinical experience as a physical therapist Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in a clinical setting or at the college level Strong organizational skills and interpersonal skills Demonstrated commitment to cultural diversity, equity, and inclusion Strong commitment to student learning and success Ability to work independently, but demonstrated ability to collaborate with an interprofession
Preferred Qualifications
Academic doctorate (PhD, Ed.D. ScD, DHSc, etc.) in relevant field. ABD will be considered. ABPTS Board Certified Specialist in relevant field Additional continuing education/certifications in relevant field Experience with the CAPTE accreditation process

Job Duties
- Promote the mission of Lincoln Memorial University to all faculty, staff, students and to the community at large
- promote effective working relationships among faculty, staff and students
- contribute to the planning, development and evaluation of courses within the DPT program
- promote by precept and example a general atmosphere of respect for knowledge, thought and inquiry
- have on file in the appropriate office an outline and list of the goals and objectives for each lecture
- carry out lecture, seminar, small group discussion and/or clinical assignments and responsibilities effectively
- prepare examination questions as well as grade a course or portion of course
- meet classes according to published schedule
- serve as an active member of the program, working closely with the Program Director to further the Program, Department, College, and University mission and vision
- commit to working in a multicultural environment that fosters diversity
- serve as an example to learners and colleagues of appropriate professional behavior
- participate in scholarly activity
- serve as mentor to physical therapy and other healthcare profession students
- provide service by attending scheduled faculty meetings and by serving on appointed and or elected committees as required
- complete required institutional, program accreditation, and other reports necessary for the operation and advancement of the program
- Perform other duties as assigned
