Essential Job Duties:
The Department of Forestry and Environmental Resources has a wide variety of strengths in forestry and natural resources management, policy and economics, environmental science and technology, wildlife and conservation biology, tree improvement, silviculture, forest biotechnology, and international forestry. The Department has over 90 full time faculty and staff, and more than 750 undergraduate and 150 graduate students. Duties and responsibilities include:

Duties and responsibilities include:
- Being a productive member of the Tree Physiology and Ecosystem Science Lab;
- Collaborating with USDA Forest Service EFETAC;
- Disseminating research results through publications and presentations at scientific meetings;
- Contributing to grant proposal writing;
- Providing teaching and other services as required and opportunities arise.
Departmental Required Skills:
- The ability to work independently and conduct original research within a team environment;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Ability to obtain a US driver's license and operate motor vehicles safely;
- Strong quantitative skills;
- Ability to communicate complex information to a broad range of constituencies.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:
Candidates with the following will be strongly competitive:
- Good publication record;
- Teaching experience;
- Supervisory experience;
- Record of contributions to scientific meetings;
- Evidence of quantitative skills, especially data synthesis, literature review and computer model development/application;
- Expertise in forest productivity, carbon and water cycling studies.
Necessary Licenses or Certifications:
Obtain a US driver's license within 90 days of employment.
