  • Monday through Friday.
  • Work hours will be scheduled between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
  • The specific schedule will be determined at the time of hire based on departmental needs and the selected candidate's availability.

Description of Job Function

  1. Performs general clerical and reception duties within the department; greets and directs walk-ins.
  2. Answers telephone, refers calls and takes messages for department staff.
  3. Performs basic data entry and types correspondence for department as directed by the supervisor.
  4. Operates standard office equipment as needed to perform tasks.
  5. Other related duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Preferred Type of Experience

Six (6) months experience in a customer service or clerical position.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  1. Ability to organize and prioritize assignments.
  2. Ability to effectively interact with others.
  3. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  4. Ability to use a personal computer and office equipment.
  5. Basic keyboarding skills.

General Working Conditions

This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. The employee will routinely operate standard office equipment including but not limited to computers, keyboards, mouse, phones, photocopiers, printers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.

Typical physical competencies include but are not limited to frequently remaining stationary, moving, reaching, positioning self and occasionally ascending/descending, lifting/moving objects weighing between 5-15 pounds. This job also entails frequently communicating, discerning and exchanging information, detecting and perceiving objects up close, at a distance, and the ability to adjust focus. Cognitive abilities include but are not limited to frequently using discretion, judgment, reasoning, memory, learning, maintaining confidentiality, comprehension, problem solving, and decision-making.
