The Per Diem Pharmacist is responsible for preparing, dispensing medications and therapeutic devices upon the written, electronic, and verbal authorization of licensed clinicians for the Cornell community, according to professional standards and practices. This position provides prescription counseling for all customers, acts as a drug information resource to patients and our Medical/CAPS Department, and serves as a patient therapeutic advocate with efforts directed toward continuous quality improvement of pharmacy services. The Per diem Pharmacist has the ability to effectively interact with students and work with a diverse population, and as a member of the health care team, the position will work within Cornell Health to provide a positive outcome for each client.
Please note: This is a per diem/casual position that will work on an as needed basis, no more than 19 hours per week on average. This position is considered an Essential Employee if scheduled on a day when the university is in reduced operating status or closed. You may be required to be on campus to meet the needs of students. Employees are required to report misses and near misses immediately to supervisor and via occurrence report. There is no visa sponsorship available for this position.
- New York registration as Doctorate of Pharmacy or Registered Pharmacist is current and in good standing
- Two to three years' experience in retail pharmacy as a pharmacist
- Commitment to build rapport with coworkers, internal customers, and other departments by demonstrating a strong customer service orientation and a continuous positive image
- Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills
- A flexible availability to work variable hours possibility weekends and breaks.
