The Computer Science and Engineering department is seeking a talented, experienced and a highly motivated student to assist in a research and development effort that lives at the intersection of data science, data interpretability, and knowledge discovery.

The primary focus will be to assist in the development and refinement of a python-based analytic pipeline that streamlines the ingestion of semi-structured textual text datasets, enhancement of this pipeline through AI/NLP techniques, and presentation refinement of in an interactive browser-based web-application for rapid knowledge discovery and data triage.

Specifically, you will be engaged in:

  • Applying Data wrangling/enhancement
  • Developing automated data preprocessing techniques,
  • Entity extraction and natural language processing of text-based datasets
  • Performing statistical analysis of aggregate datasets

This position is based in State College, PA. The successful candidates will work 40 hours/week over the summer. Undergraduate students majoring in Data Science, Social Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Information Science and Technology, and/or Security and Risk Analysis are encouraged to apply.
