JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The laboratory of Mark Guiltinan and Siela Maximova in the Department of Plant Science at The Pennsylvania State University seeks a highly motivated part-time junior level research technologist to work in a molecular and plant biotech lab on Theobroma cacao. Must have experience in general plant biotechnology including tissue culture and plant propagation. Additional plant experience in greenhouse maintenance and basic molecular biology techniques is preferred. Ordering, stocking, troubleshooting, maintenance of lab equipment, preparation of reagents, media making and maintaining inventory expected. Must be reliable, organized, flexible with ability to handle multiple activities and to reprioritize tasks. Candidate with a Bachelor's degree or industry experience is preferred. Coursework in related fields (Plant Science and Molecular Biology) a plus. Strong attention to details, excellent verbal and written English communication skills are required.
