Alyssa is a Navy veteran and military spouse with a passion for student veterans and educational leadership. While serving active duty, she was commended for her exceptional leadership during Operation Iraqi Freedom. She also earned her bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in education. After her military service, she earned a master’s in teaching and learning and went on to earn her Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration focusing her research efforts on women student veterans and their experiences with support services on college and university campuses. Alyssa’s current mission is to continue researching best practices to improve student veteran experiences in higher education.
