Jennifer Laney

Dr. Jennifer Laney has over 17 years of experience in Higher Education. She currently serves as the Director of Employee Development for the Maine Community College System. Dr. Laney's focus is on leadership development, building culture, and organizational effectiveness. Prior to this role, she served as the Dean of Students at York County Community College for three years. Dr. Laney’s areas of oversight included: admissions, financial aid, student accounts, student life, conduct, Title IX, athletics, esports, and housing.

Prior to YCCC, Dr. Laney was the Director of Athletics and Student Life at the University of Maine at Augusta. She also coached the women’s basketball team at the University for nine season. Dr. Laney is a graduate of the University of Maine, with a Ph.D. in Higher Education specializing in organizational support, job satisfaction, and gender equity, a Master of Education in Higher Education with a concentration in student-athletic retention and Bachelor of Arts in Food Science and Human Nutrition.
