Kelly A. Cherwin has worked for HigherEdJobs since 2008 and is currently the Director of Editorial Strategy. After receiving her Master of Business Administration degree (MBA) from Loyola University Chicago in 2002 with a dual concentration in Marketing and Management and certification in Ethics, she began working as the Director of Career Services at Career Colleges of Chicago. She later transitioned to the Program Coordinator at the Illinois Institute of Technology(IIT) and in 2005 was appointed to the role as Director of Career Services at IIT's Stuart Graduate School of Business. Since 2003, Kelly has also been an adjunct instructor, and continues to teach undergraduate and graduate business courses at IIT and Elmhurst College covering topics as: organizational behavior, project management, strategic management and ethics. Kelly also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology- Ecology, Evolution and Behavior from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.

Our university and college campuses are diverse communities that often have many informative and meaningful events taking place on campus (and now virtually). Engaging the larger campus community in these events is essential for our diverse communities to interact and learn from one another. In this month's Higher Ed Careers interview, in honor of November being National Veterans and Military Families Month, we focus on how to best engage the larger campus community in military-connected events.
